How to Compost a HEROPACK

You scanned the code!
What a Hero.
If you’re wondering how it all works, you’ve come to the right place!

HEROPACKs are certified home-compostable mailers, which means that if composted correctly, they will turn into fertiliser for your garden in 90-120 days.

KAPOW, single use plastic!

So, how do you compost it?
Let's break it down (literally)

STEP 1: PEEL IT
Peel off any non-compostable labels and cut off any adhesive at the top of the mailer.

STEP 2: SNIP IT
Cut up the HEROPACK into small pieces (this will speed up the composting process)

STEP 3: POP IT
Pop the HEROPACK into your home compost bin. Remember, the HEROPACK acts as "brown" or "dry" materials and needs to be used in a 2:1 ratio with "wet" materials such as food waste.

STEP 4: MIX IT
Always remember to frequently aerate your compost pile because aerobic organisms need to breathe air to survive. Aeration is necessary in high temperature aerobic composting for rapid odor-free decomposition. Aeration is also useful in reducing high initial moisture content in composting materials.

STEP 5: PLANT IT
After 120 days, when the HEROPACK has disappeared, plant the compost in your garden and mix with soil.

TA DA! You have saved the Earth from single use plastic.
